California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) President Thomas A. Parham has been selected to serve on the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Sony Music Group Grant Supports New Male Success Alliance Programs
(Carson, Ca.) California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) Male Success Alliance (MSA) has received funding from the Sony Music Group to help support MSA members, and to develop new programs for male students of color at partner K-12 schools in South Los Angeles and the South Bay. With the Sony Music Group funding, 20 MSA members will receive a stipend through the MSA Scholarship Program, which requires scholars to actively participate and volunteer in its many programs and outreach efforts. Maria Avila Receives Fulbright Specialist Award to Teach in Colombia

Maria Avila, associate professor of Social Work at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), has received a Fulbright Specialist Program award to teach pedagogical skills at the Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander in Cúcuta, Colombia. Her three-week appointment begins May 31. Fulbright Specialist award recipients are selected based on their academic and professional achievement, leadership in their field, and their potential to foster long-term cooperation between institutions in the U.S. and abroad.
