In honor of Black History Month, the Department of Africana Studies and University Archives and Special Collections at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) present “The Font of Black Culture in Los Angeles: The Alfred and Bernice Ligon Aquarian Collection” beginning Feb. 10 Featuring historical items from the famed Aquarian Book Shop in Los Angeles that were recently donated to the university's archives department, the exhibit will run through Sept. 1 in the archives' gallery. California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) President Willie J. Hagan delivered the keynote address during the City of Carson's annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Jan. 16, touching on the context prevalent during the Civil Rights Movement that influenced Dr. King's struggles and triumphs, and how faith, obligation and love helped him overcome his fears. Interim VP William Franklin to receive the CSU’s Wang Family Excellence Award
As a high school and college student, William Franklin, interim vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), learned firsthand how academic enrichment programs such as Upward Bound and the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) can improve student success.
