Students Talina Minasian and Kristina Chandler receive CSUDH Alumni Scholarship
For their strong academic achievement and extensive service to the university and the community, Talina Minasian, an Occupational Therapy (OT) student, and Kristina Chandler, a public administration major, have received the California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) Alumni Scholarship. The longest-serving mayor in city of Los Angeles history–and its only African American mayor–who paved the way for other candidates crossing racial boundaries at the polls, has very little acknowledgement outside of the city, but Lyn Goldfarb and Alison Sotomayor are looking to change that. As they chowed down on food truck fare, were digitally transported to faraway lands, won a litany of prizes, and were dazzled by the sleight of hand of a roving magician, the staff at California State University, Dominguez Hills were honored July 31 for all their hard work during Staff Appreciation Day 2015. This year the day took on an international flare with the theme “International Day.” A caravan of food trucks served food from such country as Thailand, South America, Cuba and Japan.
