Miriam Haregot, a senior at Arcadia High School, is already confident about her communication skills and enjoys speaking with others, but she still felt fortunate to have been chosen to attend the African American Leaders for Tomorrow (AALT) conference at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) to sharpen those skills and learn what it takes to embark on a successful college career. To mark the anniversary of the Watts Rebellion, California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) is hosting a year-long, interdisciplinary “conversation” among faculty, students and the community with events taking place both on and off campus.
