Professional Background
Dr. Pinto joined the faculty of CSUDH in 2007 following a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Center for Family Studies and Sociology at the University of California, Riverside. She has presented at numerous conferences for her research on race and gender roles in the division of household labor and child rearing, particularly immigrant Mexican families; and educational attainment among children of immigrant farm workers. She has also authored a number of journal articles and encyclopedia chapters on these and other general sociology topics.
She is the graduate studies coordinator in the Department of Sociology.
