Reproductive endocrinology; minority student training in the biomedical sciences; pre-health professions (e.g. medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, etc.); advising.
Professional Background
Primary research interests involve the regulation of the female sexual cycle, focusing on the molecular aspects of that regulation, i.e. changes in the gonadotropin subunit mRNAs during the estrous cycle in response to ovarian steroids, GnRH, and other physiological parameters.
In addition, a major focus has been in the area of increasing the number of minorities in the sciences, specifically in the area of minority health disparities.
