Professional Background
Xuefei (Nancy) Deng is an Associate Professor of Information Systems (IS). Her research focuses on digital technologies, human value, IS design, IS workforce and knowledge management.
Deng’s projects have focused on such topics as “How do African American Men Succeed in the Information Technology (IT) Industry? Effects of Social Capital and Digital Story-telling by African-American IT Leaders in Southern California;” “Understanding Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Analytics Professionals;” and “Social Technology Use and Digital Inclusion: Hearing the Voices of First-Generation Students.” Her work has been published in top IS and management journals and presented in international conferences.
Deng is an associate editor of two journals; Information and Organization, and Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce. She also serves on the editorial review board of Knowledge Management Research & Practice.
