Upon the recommendation of the Faculty Leaves and Honors Committee, University President Mildred García presented Cyril “Ed” Zoerner, professor and chair of the English department, with the Lyle E. Gibson Dominguez Hills Distinguished Teacher Award, and Carl Sneed, associate professor of the psychology department, with the Excellence in Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity Award. California State University, Dominguez Hills guitar studies students Erick Barrientos, Ivan Chavarria, Jose Gutierrez, and Jan Pequeño did more than visit the renowned center; they performed there.
