Nearly 500 female high school students visited California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) on Feb. 21 to learn about the numerous opportunities waiting for them in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) workforce during Women in STEM Career Day 2020. The event was hosted by EXP, a nonprofit organization that helps schools in the Southern California region deliver innovative, career-based curriculum. A long-standing partner with CSUDH, EXP has hosted its annual GPS Your Future STEM career fair on campus for a number of years, and each year CSUDH participates in EXP's internship program for local high school students. Nearly three dozen students received top honors for their scholarly research and creative activity during California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) 15th Annual Student Research Day (SRD) competition on Feb. 12 and 13. Since 2005, the highly anticipated showcase of comprehensive faculty mentorship and student achievement has brought together the campus community, and an enthusiastic group of volunteers. Studio Art Program Partners with L.A. County to Encourage Student Voting
Anthony Kordahi's father emigrated from Lebanon to the United States in the 1980s to escape civil war and live in a country where he could have a voice, and vote what was in his heart. So, when Kordahi was asked to paint someone who inspires him to vote, his father was high on the list. Kordahi is one of 20 California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) students whose paintings of family and friends are featured in a regional non-partisan art project called the Next Generation of Voters.
