Aileen Gonzalez, a criminal justice major at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), has experienced a lot of “hard moments” throughout her life. When she was an infant, she was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis, a birth defect in which the joints between the bones of the skull fuse before the brain is fully formed. The disorder left her eyes “bulging” by the time she entered kindergarten, which is when she began having headaches and other issues that made it difficult for her to play with other children. Faculty Awarded NSF Grant to Enhance Research with DNA Sequencer

Toyota and CSUDH Dedicate Mobile Fabrication Laboratories
(CARSON, Calif.) - Four new mobile fabrication laboratories (fab labs) to help students build science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills will soon make their debut in Los Angeles County. CSUDH Receives 4 Upward Bound Grants Totaling More Than $5.2 Million
Each of the five-year U.S. Department of Education grants will support 60 students participating in CSUDH Upward Bound programs at five local schools: Carson High School, Gardena High School, Hawthorne High School, Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, and Thomas Jefferson High School in South Los Angeles.
