On Tuesday, she was one of only 10 Hispanic education leaders and students on stage with President Barack Obama as he signed the executive order renewing and revising the 20-year-old White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans. Teen Journalists From China Visit CSU Dominguez Hills
Every summer and winter, high school students from Shanghai, China, visit the United States to learn English and the American culture. Last month, 40 students made California State University, Dominguez Hills their home for six days as part of the College of Extended and International Education's American Language and Culture Program study tours. “We call them study tours because the students spend the morning portion of their day in English classes and after lunch they get to do something fun like Disneyland or the beach,” said Dr. Edward Milecki, director of international programs at the university. Dr. Kimberly Trimble Named Fulbright Scholar for 2009-10
Dr. Kimberly Trimble, professor in the Division of Teacher Education, was named a Fulbright Scholar for 2009-2010 and spent the academic year at the Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, teaching and directing student research in the Graduate School of Education's Master's in Teaching English as a Foreign Language program, and developing a language program for new diplomats through the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
