Campus Marks a First Hosting Regional Dance Festival
The Department of Theatre and Dance at California State University, Dominguez Hills gained a distinction in the world of collegiate dance. It served as the host of the inaugural Baja Region Conference of the American College Dance Festival Association (ACDFA). Summer Session Offers Value and Flexibility
If you think summer school is a bummer, guess again. There's good news. Along with helping students make progress toward their degree, the CSU Dominguez Hills College of Extended and International Education(CEIE) has revamped its tuition fee schedule and refund policy beginning for the 2012 summer session. The changes offer students an affordable alternative to getting the classes they need and a more equitable refund policy. Previously, students paid for six summer session units regardless of how many units they took–anywhere from one to six. Two faculty members and their colleagues were honored during the 2012 Annual Faculty Awards Reception on March 15 which was held in the South Wing of the University Library. Upon the recommendation of the Faculty Leaves and Honors Committee, University President Mildred García presented Cyril “Ed” Zoerner, professor and chair of the English department, with the Lyle E. Gibson Dominguez Hills Distinguished Teacher Award, and Carl Sneed, associate professor of the psychology department, with the Excellence in Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity Award. Speed Networking Event Helps Students Quickly Hone Their Professional Skills
On March 7, the California State University, Dominguez Hills Career Center held its first-ever “Speed Networking with Working Professionals” for students and alumni. Professionals from local businesses and organizations volunteered their time to help students develop their networking and interview skills and gain insight into the working life they will embark on after graduating.
