DHTV, the broadcast programming service of California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), has been honored with three 2015 Telly Awards. Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards honors the very best film & video productions, groundbreaking online video content, and outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs. DHTV won for its "OSHA Entertainment Safety Certificate" commercial, "Freshman Convocation - Wrap-Up" video, and "Dig It: Anthropology" about anthropology students conducting research at Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum. AB 540 students share challenges and triumphs with consul general of Mexico
After crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, 14-year-old Belen Mercado walked with her two brothers through the desert for two days and slept in the cold sand by night to reunite with her mother, whom they had not seen since she had migrated from Guadalajara, Mexico, to the United States a couple years prior. Mercado soon enrolled in middle school and began leading the life of an undocumented immigrant teenager. University Receives $3 Million for Higher Education Innovation
California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) has been awarded a $3 million one-time infusion of state funds in recognition of its innovative efforts to reduce the average time to earn a degree and increase graduation rates among its students. The university was one of 14 California public colleges and universities–and one of only five CSU campuses– selected to share a pool of $50 million allocated by Governor Jerry Brown in the 2014 state budget. Class of 2015 raises most money ever, helps hydrate future Toros
Surrounded by an enthusiastic and seemingly thirsty group of seniors and other California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) students, the Class of 2015 unveiled its Senior Class Gift on May 7, the first of four new clean water drinking stations to be installed on campus. The unveiling of the filtered water station took place in a high-traffic outdoor hallway on the second floor the Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) building.
