In its annual college ranking, the Washington Monthly has ranked California State University, Dominguez Hills fifth in the nation among more than 650 universities whose highest degree granted is the master's degree. It was the highest ranking of any master's university in California. The Washington Monthly, a D.C.-based magazine, has been producing its college rankings guide since 2005. McNair Scholars on the Mark for Doctoral Programs
Earning a doctoral degree is a scholarly pursuit that may seem out of reach for many; however, the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program at California State University, Dominguez Hills is helping to make the advanced degree attainable. The program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, provides financial support and academic guidance to encourage and prepare undergraduate junior and senior students for graduate studies. Loker Student Union Turns Twenty
Serving as the hub of the university, the award-winning Donald P. and Katherine B. Loker Student Union (LSU) at California State University, Dominguez Hills celebrates its 20th anniversary with free festivities on Sept. 12 from noon to 8 p.m. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and guests are invited to take part in interactive activities including photo booths, photo bingo, karaoke, and to play video games such as Mortal Combat and Turbo SF2 Champion Hyper Fighting. CSU Dominguez Hills Records Another Strong Fundraising Year with $4 Million Raised
California State University, Dominguez Hills posted the fifth straight year of steady fundraising growth, with $4.12 million raised for the university through corporate, foundation and individual giving and pledges in fiscal year 2011-12. The year (July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012) saw a nearly 25 percent increase in overall donations from the previous year, and a 60 percent increase in alumni giving. In fact, it was the fifth year in a row the university's fundraising efforts have exceeded the previous year.
