
The CSUDH women’s and men’s basketball teams made Toro history over the weekend, with each securing CCAA Tournament Titles and earning spots in the NCAA West Regional Tournaments.
The No. 1 seeded women’s basketball team completed its championship mission on March 8, dominating No. 2 Cal Poly Pomona 77-54 in the CCAA Tournament Championship at The Sports Center.

The win improved the Toros to 32-1 overall, securing both the CCAA regular-season and tournament titles for the first time since 2014-15. Read more about the match.
The No. 1 seeded men’s basketball team also secured its place in program history at The Sports Center on March 8, defeating No. 2 Chico State 74-68 in the CCAA Tournament Championship. The hard-won victory improved the Toros to 25-5 overall, claiming their first outright CCAA Tournament title since 2011 and second overall. The win also represented the Toro men’s first time claiming the CCAA regular season championship and tournament championship since 1986-87. Get the full match recap.
With these momentous wins secured, both teams now await their seeding in the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournaments.
Women’s regionals will be played at on-campus sites March 14, 15, and 17. The eight regional champions advancing to the Women’s Elite Eight will be seeded by the Women’s Basketball Committee after completion of the regionals. See the 2025 Division II NCAA Women’s Bracket here.
For the men, seven of the eight regional tournaments, consisting of eight teams each, will be played at on-campus sites March 15, 16, and 18. One regional tournament also consisting of eight teams will be conducted March 14, 15, and 17. The eight regional champions will advance to the quarterfinals in conjunction with the 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s Elite Eight. See the 2025 Division II NCAA Men’s Bracket here.
