Professional Background

Cheever’s research examines the intersection of media use and content, and people’s psychological processes. She has co-authored/edited three books, including The Handbook of Psychology, Technology and Society (Wiley/Blackwell); iDisorder: Understanding our Obsession with Technology and Overcoming its Hold on Us (Palgrave/Macmillan); and Rewired: Understanding the Net Generation and How They Learn (Palgrave/Macmillan). Cheever teaches courses in media writing, research, theory and methods; media psychology; senior seminar; news literacy; and reporting and information gathering, and works as a psychology researcher, consultant, and is a sought after speaker.
