Professional Background
Vieira began his research pursuits studying human time perception using electroencephalography at Fresno State University. His interests shifted toward neurobiological correlates of memory while a graduate student at the University of California, Riverside. As a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he focused his work on drug addiction, helping to develop novel in vivo biosensors for real-time tracking of drug pharmacokinetics. A former McNair Scholar at CSUDH and Ford Fellow, Vieira is also interested in issues related to higher education diversity.
