California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) President Thomas A. Parham gave his first official address as the university's 11th president on Sept. 20 at the 2018 Fall Convocation. When Janet Dial arrived at California State University at Los Angeles in 2014, the fund-raising operation she was taking over was still a work in progress. Fourteen employees staffed the university's advancement office, with four additional positions unfilled. The university had recently paid for new database software to help it track alumni and search for potential donors, but it was still neglecting some key best practices for raising money. PARHAM President California State University, Dominguez Hills Thomas Parham took office as president of Cal State Dominguez Hills in July, after serving as vice chancellor for student affairs and an adjunct faculty member at the University of California, Irvine. He was at UCI since 1985, and previously was on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
