Almost 100 educators, researchers, and administrators descended on the CSUDH campus for the UC|CSU Collaborative for Neuroscience, Diversity, and Learning summit on Nov. 18. First Gen College Celebration Highlights Generational Success
Hundreds of students, staff, and faculty gathered on Nov. 7 for the sixth annual First Gen College Celebration to honor the accomplishments of CSUDH’s first-generation students. Toro Men’s Soccer Earns NCAA Berth
The CSUDH men’s soccer team won their eighth California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) title on Sunday, Nov. 17, defeating Cal Poly Pomona in the championship. The Toros won the tightly contested match 6-5 on penalties, after a tense, scoreless match. It was their second conference title in the past three years. With the win, the Toros advance to the NCAA Tournament, where they are the fourth seed in Super Region 4. The Toros will face fifth-seeded Cal State LA on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 3 PM. Inner City Youth Orchestra Plays Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
The Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (ICYOLA), founded and led by CSUDH Department of Music faculty member Charles “Chuck” Dickerson, performed on the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage in Washington, DC, on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024. The event was livestreamed on the center’s website. Laura Warrell Talks Books, Jazz, and Publishing
It took more than two decades, four unpublished manuscripts, and scores of rejection letters before Laura Warrell brought her first book into the world—the acclaimed novel Sweet, Soft, Plenty Rhythm, which was published by Pantheon Books last year and recently issued in a paperback edition.
