CSUDH Receives $4.5 Million to Provide STEM Programs for Compton Students
(Carson, CA) California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) has received a $4.5 million GEAR UP program grant from the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) to increase the number of low-income students in the Compton Unified School District (CUSD) who are prepared to enter and succeed in college. The seven-year GEAR UP grant will enable CSUDH faculty and staff to work with CUSD and other entities to create academic development programs and activities for a cohort of advanced underserved students starting in the 7th grade and through their graduation at Dominguez High School. Science and Innovation Building on Schedule for Fall 2020 Opening
With numerous complex stages of implementation, construction on a building as technically advanced and educationally accommodating as California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) Science and Innovation Building takes time, as well as the patience of those eager to teach and learn in it. Fortunately for all, construction on the $82 million, 91,000-square-foot instructional and research center is on schedule to be completed in October 2019.
