Pow Wow Brings Culture, Traditions of Native Americans to Campus
On Saturday and Sunday, April 20 and 21, the California State University, Dominguez Hills Pow Wow took place in the campus Sculpture Garden and featured exhibitions of traditional songs and dances performed by men and women in colorful and elaborate tribal regalia, as well as social dancing, singing and drumming, flute music, arts and crafts, and food. University Students Provide Preschoolers a Jumpstart on Education
Curious, giggling 3- to 5-year-olds joined hands for a snake dance, touched eagle feathers and fur, and listened in awe to tales told by an American Indian in full regalia. Others had their first-ever romp in the snow.
