Along with helping students make progress toward their degree, the CSU Dominguez Hills College of Extended and International Education(CEIE) has revamped its tuition fee schedule and refund policy beginning for the 2012 summer session. The changes offer students an affordable alternative to getting the classes they need and a more equitable refund policy. Previously, students paid for six summer session units regardless of how many units they took–anywhere from one to six. On March 7, the California State University, Dominguez Hills Career Center held its first-ever “Speed Networking with Working Professionals” for students and alumni. Professionals from local businesses and organizations volunteered their time to help students develop their networking and interview skills and gain insight into the working life they will embark on after graduating. California State University, Dominguez Hills guitar studies students Erick Barrientos, Ivan Chavarria, Jose Gutierrez, and Jan Pequeño did more than visit the renowned center; they performed there. Record Number of Clinical Science Students Receive Siemens-ASCP Scholarships
Six students from the California State University, Dominguez Hills Division of Health Sciences clinical science program have been awarded scholarships for 2011-2012 by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), a professional organization in the field, in partnership with sponsor Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics. Christy Chung, Alex Funk, Marianela Hechavarria, Haixia Huang, and Lissette Renteria were each awarded a $1,000 Siemens-ASCP Scholarship, and Annie Tran was awarded a $2,000 Siemens Legacy Scholarship.
