The CSUDH Gerth Archives and Special Collections has been awarded two grants to assist in cataloguing several of its notable collections. The archives received a $100,000 grant from the California State Library to support CSUDH's LGBTQ History Access Project. The funds will enable the archives to hire an archivist to catalog, arrange, and describe several collections related to the Southern California LGBTQ community. Ilia Calderón Inspires at Presidential Distinguished Lecture Series
Speaking between news broadcasts from Miami on March 17, Univision anchor Ilia Calderón shared her life story, reflections on overcoming barriers, and words of wisdom with the CSUDH community. Calderón was the featured speaker for the Presidential Distinguished Lecture Series, a program which invites prominent public figures to discuss their experiences within the context of society's most pressing issues. CSUDH Bulletin Takes Honors at College Journalism Awards
By Gabriel Gomez, Bulletin Staff Reporter CSUDH's student newspaper, the Bulletin, has won six California College Media Association (CCMA) 2022 Excellence in Student Media Awards. The awards were announced at the Associated Collegiate Press Spring National College Media Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Long Beach, with students representing journalism schools from across the nation in attendance.
