Generous members of the Toro community turned out for a pair of on-campus toy drives during the first weeks of December. The drives were sponsored by CSUDH's Center for Service Learning, Internships and Civic Engagement (SLICE) and its Jumpstart program; and the CSUDH Police Department (DHPD). As a result, hundreds of children from underserved communities received holiday gifts. New Murals Adorn Innovation & Instruction Building
The Innovation and Instruction Building is a striking new structure on the CSUDH campus, but the visual appeal isn't just in its architecture. Inside, Toros are greeted by a series of eye-catching murals created by Los Angeles artist Mark Steven Greenfield. The eight murals adorn walls throughout the building, adding a vibrant and meaningful touch to its interior spaces. Meals 4 Toros Program Distributes Thanksgiving Dinners to Students in Need
Responding to the needs of many in the Toro Nation, the staff of CSUDH's Basic Needs Office distributed Thanksgiving meals to students on Friday, Nov. 19. The event was part of the university's new Meals 4 Toros program, which is aimed at providing holiday dinners for CSUDH students in need. The program is a joint effort between the Office of Development, the Basic Needs Office, and Campus Dining. It was the brainchild of Andre Khachaturians, CSUDH's senior director of annual campaigns and advancement services. CSUDH Receives Largest Single Donation in University History from Snap Inc.
Snap Inc., developer of Snapchat, announced today a $5 million gift to California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) for the creation and endowment of a new institute focused on addressing equity gaps in computing education. The gift comprises the largest single donation ever given to the CSUDH campus. CSUDH Celebrates $200 Million Campus Transformation with Four Ribbon Cuttings
On October 15, 2021, CSUDH hosted four simultaneous ribbon cuttings, three of which were on major capital project buildings totaling more than $200 million. The grand openings marked the biggest transformation of the campus in more than a decade, and the first additions of brand-new academic facilities in more than 20 years.
