A new energy storage system on the California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) campus is reducing the university's impact on the local power grid and making the campus more sustainable. Alumni Teach and Empower During 5th Annual Professor for a Day
With 37 alumni teaching hundreds of students in dozens of classrooms, California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) 5th annual Professor for a Day on March 14 was its largest and most professionally diverse gathering of honorary professors to date. Organized by the Office of Alumni Relations, each year Professor for a Day enables CSUDH alumni to share their knowledge, experience, and advice with students in classes matched to their fields. President Hagan Honored with California Legislature Resolution
Willie J. Hagan, who will retire as president of California State University, Dominguez Hills following the university's 2018 Commencement on May 18-19, was honored with an Assembly Resolution on March 8 by the California Legislature to “extend special public recognition and commendations to him for his professional and civic leadership.” The resolution pays tribute to Hagan's six years as CSUDH's 10th president and four decades of service in higher education. As a recognized leader in developing impactful curriculum and programs for its students and faculty, California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) served as the ideal host for the 2018 HIPs in the States conference on Feb. 22-24, an informal collective of college and university educators dedicated to defining, tracking, and assessing high-impact practices (HIPs) at public institutions. Student Research Day Showcases Scholarship and Mentorship
Now in its 13th year, Student Research Day (SRD) has become an institution at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), and a widely-anticipated showcase of the analytical and creative vigor demonstrated each year by the university's budding researchers. Close to 220 oral and poster presentations were delivered during SRD on Feb. 14 and 15, covering a wide range of academic disciplines at the university, from history to health, business to biology, Chicana/o studies to computer science.
