CSU Dominguez Hills Partners with Zipcar to Offer Car Sharing on Campus
California State University (CSU), Dominguez Hills launched a new partnership with Zipcar, the world's leading car sharing network, to offer a Zipcar car sharing program on campus. The transportation option is now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for students, faculty, and staff ages 18 and older, as well as members of the local community ages 21 and over. CSU Dominguez Hills will initially offer two vehicles, a Ford Focus and a Toyota Prius. The Zipcars will have designated parking spots located in Parking Lot 3 near the Tamcliff entrance to campus for convenient pick-up and return. Smartphones vs. Sleep: CSUDH psychology professors’ study takes a look
Do smartphones make people smarter? When considering how they affect people's sleep, the answer is no, according to Larry Rosen, professor of psychology at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). Rosen and fellow CSUDH psychology professor Mark Carrier, along with three graduate students, surveyed more than 700 college students to study and determine how the use, and misuse, of technology affects the amount and quality of sleep they get each day. Active learning classrooms enhance collaborative learning and inspire new approaches to teaching
With the installation of three state-of-the-art active learning classrooms (ALC) this summer at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) many students will experience a more collaborative and empowering way of learning, while faculty develop more creative approaches to teaching. The new ALCs consist of two spacious classrooms in Welch Hall (WH 160 A; WH 160 B) that accommodate a total of 154 students, and a new Case Study Room in the University Library (LIB 5514). California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) alumna and 2012 Olympic gold medalist Carmelita Jeter helped the university welcome the incoming Class of 2015 at the second annual Freshman Convocation on Sept. 21. Jeter, President Willie J.
