Do smartphones make people smarter? When considering how they affect people's sleep, the answer is no, according to Larry Rosen, professor of psychology at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). Rosen and fellow CSUDH psychology professor Mark Carrier, along with three graduate students, surveyed more than 700 college students to study and determine how the use, and misuse, of technology affects the amount and quality of sleep they get each day. Caifornia State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) computer science majors Dominique Dalanni and Gary Walker join chemistry major Alice Heng as recipients of the 2015 Edison STEM Scholarship, which helps low-income students and women studying in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields offset the high cost of attending college. Barnes Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is named in memory of Barnes, the former director of Alumni Relations at CSUDH, and is awarded annually to one eligible full-time undergraduate and one graduate student.
