In February, a CSUDH delegation traveled to the California State Capitol to discuss the critical need for investment in the CSU with government officials and policymakers. Toro Tuesday Boosts Student Engagement and Success
ASI President Edgar Mejia-Alezano selecting a winning name for the Toro Tuesday Grand Finale. For more than twenty years, Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) has hosted Toro Tuesday—a weekly tradition in which students, faculty, and staff proudly don their CSUDH gear. For students, Toro Tuesday is not only a chance to show school spirit, but also to participate in campus activities, make new connections, and win sizable scholarships. Child Development Center Earns NAEYC Accreditation
2023 has become an especially noteworthy year for the CSUDH Child Development Center. Run by Associated Students, Inc., the center has long been a trusted child care provider for students, employees, and the surrounding community. This year, in addition to its 50th anniversary, the center is celebrating a new accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The Child Development Center (CDC) has played an integral role at CSUDH since its inception in 1973, when it was established to provide affordable, accessible child care to student-parents and employees. Governor Appoints Toro Alum to CSU Board of Trustees
On June 29, California Governor Gavin Newsom appointed recent CSUDH graduate Jonathan Molina Mancio to the California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees, the oversight and regulatory body for the entire 23-campus system. Mancio will commence his two-year term as student trustee in Fall 2023, when he will also begin attending Cal State Fullerton's Master of Science in Higher Education program. Mancio graduated from CSUDH in May 2023 with his bachelor's degree in business administration and a strong record of student leadership and advocacy experience.
