CSUDH Musical Comedy ‘Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play’ Livestreams May 6-8

(Carson, CA.) California State University, Dominguez Hills’ (CSUDH) Department of Theatre and Dance will present its production of the musical comedy “Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play.” The livestream will take place May 6, 7, and 8 at 7 p.m. in the University Theatre. Written by Anne Washburn, with music by Michael Friedman and lyrics by Anne Washburn, “Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play,” tells the story of a group of post-apocalyptic survivors recalling and retelling "Cape Feare,” an episode of the television show “The Simpsons.” The livestream of “Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play” takes place May 6, 7, and 8 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 per performance. Theatre and Dance Live Streams Student Spring Dance Concert ‘Untamed Visions’

The Department of Theatre and Dance at CSUDH will host a live stream of the student spring dance concert “Untamed Visions.” The show will run April 15, 16, 17 at 7 p.m., and April 16 at noon. “Untamed Visions” was created by eight student choreographers: Lorena Aguilar Rojas, Josh Alvarez, Nick Castillo, Lillie Galloway, Hannah Mercado, Sarah Omori, Rufina Perez-Gutierrez and Dani Rico, with support from Theatre and Dance faculty and staff. ‘A Surge of Power,’ A Black Lives Matter-Devised Theatre Production, March 11-16

(Carson, Ca.) California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) will host a livestream production of “A Surge of Power,” an original student-written theatre production that gives voice to the rising plea for social equity. The show will run March 11, 12, 13, and 16 at 7 p.m. “A Surge of Power” is one result of the pledge the Department of Theatre and Dance made last summer in support of the Black Lives Matter movement to tell stories that denounce racism and bigotry, and foster empathy for all people. California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) will host a live stream production of Josefina López’s classic comedic drama “Confessions of Women from East L.A.” on Nov. 12, 13, and 14 at 7 p.m. López is the celebrated author of “Real Women Have Curves.” Produced by CSUDH’s Theatre Arts Department and featuring faculty lecturers Stefani Baez as director, and Marco Carreon as choreographer, the all-Latina cast is composed of four theatre arts majors who live in local communities that CSUDH serves: Diana Caranza, Genesis Garcia, Emma Soltero, and Andrea Velasquez.
