Being the first in your family to attend university is a phenomenal achievement—and one which too often requires overcoming barriers and hardships. That was the central message at CSUDH’s 5th Annual First Generation Celebration on Nov. 8, an event dedicated to the nearly 50 percent of Toro students who are forging this path for themselves and their families. TRIO Student Support Services Receives $2.4 Million Grant
(Carson, CA) California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) has received two U.S. Department of Education (DOE) grants totaling $2.4 million for the TRIO Student Support Services program to provide low-income and military veteran students the services and coaching they need to excel at CSUDH. Student Support Services (SSS) is one of the eight federal “TRIO” programs that help support low-income and first-generation college students, and those with disabilities succeed in higher education.
