Andy Perez (B.A. ’99) has been appointed to the City of Long Beach’s Planning Commission. Andy is currently employed by Union Pacific Railroad as director of port affairs for the Ports of Long Beach, Los Angeles and Oakland. He is active in the Long Beach community, having served on the Boards of Directors for Long Beach Boys and Girls Clubs and the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Mayor Robert Garcia’s Transition Team.
Nina Richardson (B.A. ’06) has been appointed to the City of Long Beach’s Commission on Youth and Children. Nina is a higher education professional and candidate for a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership at the University of Southern California Rossier School of Education. Her research interests include mentoring, online education, and college access for students of color.
Caleb Oliver (B.S. ’08; M.A. ’13) has been promoted to vice principal at Franklin D. Roosevelt Middle School in Compton, Calif. Caleb began his career with Compton Unified School District in the fall of 2008 as a math teacher at Benjamin O. Davis Middle School.
