John Price, professor of physics at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) has received a three-year, $235,000 grant from the Department of Energy (DOE) for his ongoing experimental nuclear physics program in proton research: “Photo- and Electroproduction of Multiply-Strange Hyperons at CLAS.” This is the fourth grant Price has been awarded from the DOE for the program since 2007. Alexandra Gutierrez didn't think twice before giving up her apartment in Wilmington to travel to “beautiful” Australia. After all, how could the California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) biology student resist trudging through rain and mud, and climbing steep hills in the summer heat to study ants. STEM Advantage, a nonprofit that has been supporting California State University, Dominguez Hills students since 2013, was named Nonprofit Team of the Year by the Los Angeles Business Journal. The newspaper presented the award on June 22 at its annual Nonprofit and Corporate Citizens Awards gala. STEM Advantage was one of 103 nominees and four finalists for the top honor. Three California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) psychology students and their faculty mentors were awarded 1st Place during the International Honors Society in Psychology (Psi Chi) poster session at the Western Psychological Association (WPA) Convention in May 2016.
