California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) faculty, staff and students joined campus administrators on Sept. 22 for a town hall meeting to discuss the first draft of the university's 2014-2020 Strategic Plan and provide feedback for the plan's final development stages. The approximately 200 attendees who gathered in the Loker Student Union Ballroom were encouraged to provide both verbal comments and weigh in through text messages and online polling that measured the priority of each goal's objectives and strategies. College of Business Tests Google Glass in Academic Setting
As its faculty and students literally gaze into the future, California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) will be among the first universities in the nation testing Google Glass as a wearable technology that may enhance student learning. The university will be the first in the U.S. to test the device on a large scale in an academic setting. Addressing the importance of getting involved on campus and strategically navigating their academic careers, CSU Dominguez Hills' deans, administrators, alumni and special guests joined President Willie J. Hagan during the university's first Freshman Convocation on Sept. 5 to officially welcome the Freshman Class of 2014. Approximately 1,000 of the university's first-year freshmen filled the bleachers of the StubHub Center Tennis Stadium, the same location where with time, dedication and support from the university they will cross the stage to accept their diplomas. California State University, Dominguez Hills President, Associated Students Inc., President Chris Fernandez, and ASI Board of Directors Lily Yang, Jessica Rodriguez and Oliver Baquiax were called out by former ASI President Gavin Centeno to take the Ice Bucket Challenge. In honor of all the families that are affected by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (commonly known as ALS), especially those who are part of the CSUDH family, they accepted the challenge and made a donation to the ALS Association.
