California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) has received a three-year, $298,719 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice's (DOJ's) Office of Violence Against Women to develop and launch the Grants to Reduce Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking on Campus Program at CSUDH. Established by Congress in 2006, the grant supports community-based approaches to enhance victim safety, provides services for victims/survivors, and supports efforts to hold offenders accountable. Irene Garcia-Brizuela considers herself “pretty much an American citizen…just not on paper.” The California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) advertising and public relations major has lived in the United States since she was 10 days old, when her mother, a Mexican citizen, brought her across the border to stay with her grandmother in Lynwood. After graduating from Lynwood High School, she attained an A.A. degree in journalism from Long Beach City College before moving on to CSUDH. California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) Department of Theatre and Dance is holding dance auditions for its spring 2020 Student Dance Concert “Translucent” on Thursday, January 23, at 6 p.m. in the CSUDH Dance Studio (Gym A-102). Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. Featuring choreography by CSUDH students, “Translucent” is an eclectic celebration of dance styles and the culmination of senior dance students' educational journeys at CSUDH.
