Outstanding Students Recognized for Leadership and Service

Some students accomplish so much during college, others endure so much to even get there, and still others manage to do both. For their outstanding leadership and extraordinary services to California State University, Dominguez Hills and surrounding communities, students nominated by their peers and members of the faculty were honored at the Second Annual President’s Student Leadership and Service Awards held in the Loker Student Union ballroom on April 25. “We are acknowledging leadership. Summit Aimed to Empower Minority Male Students to Succeed in School and Life

Ten young men, all African American and Latino students, stood in front of an audience of about 600 of their high school and college peers during the California State University, Dominguez Hills Male Success Alliance Third Annual Spring Summit held in the Loker Student Union ballroom on April 24 as part of an exercise to illustrate a point: the odds against male students of color completing high school or college are staggering. Excellence Celebrated at President’s Scholarship Reception

Mental Health Conference Centers on Hispanic Students

For the second year in a row, a mental health conference focused on Latino students will be held at California State University, Dominguez Hills, on Friday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the Loker Student Union ballroom. Geared toward Latinos aged 11 to 23, the free conference is expected to be attended by more than 150 students.
