Thinking Ahead: Biology Students Learn about Career Options at National Symposium
Several California State University, Dominguez Hills undergraduate and graduate pre-health students–most who are members of the Pre-Health Society, a student organization–served as mentors to high school students, as well as learned and networked while at the 26th Annual Symposium on Career Opportunities in Biomedical Sciences and Health Professions sponsored by the Association of Minority Health Professional Schools (AMHPS) in April. Three-year Grant Awarded to Sociology Professor for HIV/AIDS Related Study
Matt Mutchler, associate professor of sociology and director of the Urban Community Research Center (UCRC) at California State University, Dominguez Hills, has been awarded a nearly $400,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to conduct a three-year groundbreaking study exploring how young gay and bi-sexual black men talk about sexual health with their friends. Dora Baldwin: On the Fast Track to Success
Dora Baldwin, 22, has a running start on her future. A star track and field athlete at California State University, Dominguez Hills, she received the 2011-12 Dr. Richard Butwell Award in recognition for her athletic contributions, and for her academic excellence the senior business administration major recently received the 2012 Presidential Outstanding Student Award.
