Now in his third semester in the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program at California State University, Dominguez Hills, Edward Kim is focused on pediatrics. He along with one of 69 students from the program's eighth cohort are in the field once a week at the Speech and Language Development Center in Buena Park, working with low-functioning children with autism, including some who don't use speech to communicate. “We're coming up with activities that will improve [communications skills] in the classroom setting. The campus community was formally introduced to California State University, Dominguez Hills Interim President Willie Hagan on Wednesday, September 5 as he presented the annual university fall convocation address and welcomed back campus faculty, staff, and - for the first time ever at convocation - students. CSU Dominguez Hills Ranked in Top 1% Nationally for Contribution to Public Good
In its annual college ranking, the Washington Monthly has ranked California State University, Dominguez Hills fifth in the nation among more than 650 universities whose highest degree granted is the master's degree. It was the highest ranking of any master's university in California. The Washington Monthly, a D.C.-based magazine, has been producing its college rankings guide since 2005. It bases its ratings on a university's public good, or “on what colleges are doing for the country,” using three criteria: social mobility toward helping low-income students earn degrees; research production; and a university's commitment to service.
