Student Research Day caps off decade of consistent growth, student achievement
With consistent growth during an entire decade of outstanding student research, faculty mentorship, and well-deserved accolades, the 10th Annual Student Research Day (SRD) at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) highlighted an event poised for expansion for years to come. This year 352 students shared their research throughout the top floor of the Loker Student Union and in the University Library in the form of 237 presentations and posters, making it the largest SRD to date. Alumna Kayleigh Davis joins the Peace Corps to teach English in Indonesia
Speaking in Bahasa Indonesian, California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) alumna Kayleigh Davis said “Sampai jumpa lagi" (Until we meet again) as she left her friends whom she'd been visiting in Las Vegas. When she got in her car for the long drive home to Los Alamitos, she turned on a language-learning audio tape to try to memorize more words and dialogue. Davis (2014, B.A., interdisciplinary studies) believes she will have a good grasp of the language in two years when she returns from her time as an education Peace Corps volunteer teaching English in Indonesia. Faculty Scholars Program gives Enrique Ortega more time for research, students
Working with researchers in Sweden and Italy, Enrique Ortega, an assistant professor in the Department of Health Science at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), is providing his students with unique access at the undergraduate level to not only research but also international collaboration.
