California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) 2nd Annual South Bay Economic Forecast Conference reported that steady growth will continue in all the South Bay's primary economic indicators–employment, wages, housing and taxable sales–through 2017. Scott Martin's unique blend of talent, ambition, and compassion, and his desire to use those traits to help others, has earned him the 2017 Rotary Peace Fellowship and the opportunity to study in the Rotary Peace Centers program at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, where he will train to become an “agent for peace.” “I was shocked and pretty humbled when I got the fellowship. International Leaders Discuss Conflict Resolution with Students
J. Steven Rhodes, former U.S. ambassador to Zimbabwe, and Katherine Clerides, daughter of the late President Glafcos Clerides of Cyprus, were on campus last month as visiting scholars in the Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding (NCRP) program. CSUDH Receives $5.85 million to Increase Low-Income Students in STEM
California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) has received a $5.85 million Hispanic-Serving Institutions Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (HSI-STEM) grant, among the highest allocation offered by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) to help institutions articulate and graduate more under-served students into STEM fields. HSI-STEM grants are awarded to help increase the number of Hispanic and under-represented students attaining degrees in STEM fields, and to develop “model transfer and articulation agreements” between colleges and universities offering degrees in such fields.
