College of Arts and Humanities Gilah Yelin Hirsch, professor of art, will show her piece “Choice” in the “Visions of Elysium” exhibition at the Inland Empire Museum of Art. International Students Help Build Sweat Equity in Watts
A group of international students studying at CSUDH literally helped build walls and figuratively built connections at a Habitat for Humanity build day recently in Watts. Not even the unseasonably warm weather could dampen the students' enthusiasm for their charitable work, as they worked together to make a house a home for a family in need. As Siba Kattan, a student from Saudi Arabia, put it, “I feel good about helping people who need it. I've never experienced something like that. It's like doing yoga ten times! 2018 Economic Forecast Shows Strong Economy and Stable Job Growth in the South Bay
As predicted during last year's conference, California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) 2018-19 South Bay Economic Forecast showed that the economy remains strong, and though the region's status of “full-employment” has resulted in slightly slower job growth in recent years, employment growth in 2017 overall increased to a more stable 1.4 percent. Titled “A Region in Transition: The Future is Here,” the fourth annual South Bay Economic Forecast and Industry Outlook conference took place at CSUDH on Oct. 25. University Recognizes 2018 Staff Awards of Excellence Winners
Jokes, dance moves, and plenty of accolades to go around made for one of California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) most entertaining Staff Awards ceremonies in years. CSUDH President Thomas A. Parham brought his boundless energy to set the stage in the Loker Student Union Ballroom for the 2018 Staff Service Awards on Oct. 23.
