Chancellor Picks Toro Nation as First Stop on CSU System Tour

Castro, who became California State University (CSU) chancellor in January of this year, is embarking on a virtual tour of the 23-campus system - and CSUDH had the honor of being his first stop on Feb. 19. University Art Gallery and PRAXIS Awarded $45,000 for Artist Patrick Martinez Residency
California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) University Art Gallery and PRAXIS art engagement program have received two grants totaling $45,000 to support the residency of Los Angeles-based artist Patrick Martinez and an exhibition of his work. The National Endowment for the Arts granted PRAXIS $30,000 from its first round of national awards in 2021 of more than $27.5 million for projects that span 14 artistic disciplines. The grant was awarded in the “Visual Arts” category. The Pasadena Art Alliance (PAA) has also contributed to the Martinez residency and exhibition in a significant way with an additional $15,000 grant. Providence Health Donates 1,500 COVID-19 Supply Kits to Students and Staff
Kenya Beckmann felt good as she turned into Parking Lot 1 at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) and saw students placing donated food as well as Providence Health bags filled with COVID-19 protection supplies into the trunks of cars for their peers in need. Beckmann, the regional chief philanthropy officer of Providence Health, came to CSUDH to volunteer during one of the Toro Food Pantry food distribution drive-throughs.
