In June, students, faculty and alumni of the CSU Dominguez Hills Orthotics and Prosthetics program were give the opportunity to meet Oscar Pistorius, who with his debut at the 2012 London Olympics in August became the first double leg amputee to participate in an able-bodied Olympics.
The special event was organized by global orthopedic design company Ossur and held at its headquarters in Foothill Ranch. A longtime supporter of CSUDH O&P, Ossur is a major sponsor of Pistorius, providing him with his state-of-the-art prosthetic feet for over six years.
Seventeen new graduate students in the new master’s in health science O&P option degree program attended, as well as other O&P undergraduate and certificate students and alumni, and faculty and CSU Dominguez Hills administrators.
