California State University, Dominguez Hills posted the fifth straight year of steady fundraising growth, with $4.12 million raised for the university through corporate, foundation and individual giving and pledges in fiscal year 2011-12. The year (July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012) saw a nearly 25 percent increase in overall donations from the previous year, and a 60 percent increase in alumni giving. In fact, it was the fifth year in a row the university's fundraising efforts have exceeded the previous year. Bernard Osher Foundation Endows $500,000 for Transfer Student Scholarships
California State University, Dominguez Hills has been awarded a $500,000 endowment from the Bernard Osher Foundation to establish the Osher Scholarship for students transferring from California community colleges. Students transferring to CSU Dominguez Hills from one of the 112 campuses in the California Community College system who meet the eligibility requirements will be able to apply for the scholarship. California State University, Dominguez Hills is among the nation's leading institutions in granting degrees to Hispanic students, according to Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education. In its Top 100 lists, Hispanic Outlook ranks CSU Dominguez Hills 37th in granting the most undergraduate degrees and 31st in awarding the most graduate degrees to students of Hispanic origin against other universities across the country.
