The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation has awarded California State University, Dominguez Hills a $250,000 grant allocated over two years to expand its summer and first year developmental math program to include all incoming freshmen who require additional math courses to bring them to college-level proficiency. After an extensive nationwide search, California State University, Dominguez Hills President Mildred García has announced the selection of Ramon Torrecilha as the university's provost and vice president for academic affairs. Providence Little Company of Mary Foundation has given an early holiday gift to the California State University, Dominguez Hills School of Nursing. Last week, University President Mildred García accepted a check for $25,000 from the health care provider. Shell Establishes Scholarship at CSU Dominguez Hills
California State University, Dominguez Hills President Mildred García has announced the creation of the Shell Oil Scholarship thanks to a recent donation from Shell Pipeline Company LP. The Shell Oil Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student from Carson or other South Bay cities who is in good academic standing and is majoring in one of the university's STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) degree programs. The U.S. Department of Education has awarded $949,430 to California State University, Dominguez Hills–the first-year allotment of a five-year, $5.09 million Transition to Teaching (TTT) grant–to create an online credential program for math and science teachers throughout southern and central California.
