(Carson, CA) Washington Monthly magazine has ranked California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) in three of its college rankings lists: “Top 150 Master’s Universities,” “Best 4-Year Colleges for Adult Learners,” and “Best Bang for the Buck.”
Considered one of the most objective rankings of higher education, Washington Monthly uniquely examines what four-year universities do for the country as a whole based on their contributions to the public good.
CSUDH was ranked 18th in the magazine’s Top 150 Master’s Universities list, which rates institutions whose highest degree awarded is a master’s degree on three equally weighted criteria: social mobility, or the ability of graduates to earn a good living; research, both in terms of research dollars and students who go on to earn Ph.D.; and community service.
CSUDH also ranked 15th on the Best 4-Year Colleges for Adult Learners list, which looks at a number of key indicators, including ease of transfer, flexibility of programs, and graduation rates, among others. The magazine’s “Best Bang for the Buck” ranking is a mix of some of the U.S.’s most elite institutions and “hidden gems” with strong student outcomes and a commitment to social mobility. CSUDH came in at 14th among western colleges for making college more affordable and accessible.
