California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) Archives and Special Collections Department has received $260,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to continue its work digitalizing artifacts that detail life for Japanese Americans held in internment camps during World War II, and daily life during the first half of the 20th Century. After only six months on the job, the students placing calls in the Toro Fund Call Center at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) are not only learning new skills and earning some cash, they are also reaching out to alumni eager to better connect with campus and a new generation of Toros. Miguel Rivera did not retain a lot of what was taught at the “Every 15 Minutes” event that he attended as a senior at Norwalk High School in 2009, but when he returned two years later he was far-better prepared. Such events takes place each year at high schools across the country.
