For their innovative research on the transportation industry, four California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) students have been named to the Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) 2021 Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program (DDETFP). The merit-based DDETFP awards 150 to 200 fellowships annually to students across the nation to help strengthen the national workforce in the field through education and research. Male Success Alliance Receives $100,000 Grant from Kaiser Permanente
(Carson, Ca.) The Male Success Alliance (MSA) at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) has received $100,000 from Kaiser Permanente as part of $8.15 million in grants awarded to 40 nonprofit and community-based organizations across the nation for programing that addresses systemic racism. Kaiser announced the funding on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as part of a $25 million commitment the nonprofit health system made in June 2020 to promote health equity and address racism-driven stresses that lead to poor health outcomes. Studio Art Students Teach Carson Kids Online in PRAXIS CAP Pilot Program
With a webcam fixed in a way that hid his work, California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) Studio Art major Jacqueline Mendoza was intrigued by how hard her young student was working with pipe cleaners and a transparent grid to create a sculpture of the Watts Towers. When the boy lifted his artwork, Mendoza was amazed by the amount of work he had produced, and how excited he was to share it. CSUDH wins $100,000 Getty Research Grant for PST Initiative
(Carson, CA) - California State University, Dominguez Hills' (CSUDH) University Art Gallery has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Getty Foundation. The funds will be used to conduct research related to the gallery's contribution to the next Pacific Standard Time initiative in 2024, which this time focuses on the relationship between art and science. New COVID-19 Testing Protocols Take Effect
With COVID-19 cases surging throughout Los Angeles County, CSUDH has enacted a new testing program for students, faculty, and staff who will be on campus during the spring 2021 semester. Surveillance testing kicked off during the second week of January, with testing continuing every Wednesday throughout the semester. “We have implemented repeat testing this semester in order to provide a level of assurance to those working and learning on campus that they can be on campus safely,” says Nora Garcia, CSUDH Emergency Preparedness Manager.
