Providence Little Company of Mary Foundation has given an early holiday gift to the California State University, Dominguez Hills School of Nursing. Last week, University President Mildred García accepted a check for $25,000 from the health care provider. California State University, Dominguez Hills is among the Top 20 safest public colleges and universities in California as ranked by StateUniversity.com, an online hub for information on state institutions of higher learning nationwide. StateUniversity.com analyzed crime statistics from 450 colleges and universities throughout the country and assigned each a safety rating based on occurrences of crime on campus, weighing the probability of each incidence happening to each student. Shell Establishes Scholarship at CSU Dominguez Hills
California State University, Dominguez Hills President Mildred García has announced the creation of the Shell Oil Scholarship thanks to a recent donation from Shell Pipeline Company LP. The Shell Oil Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student from Carson or other South Bay cities who is in good academic standing and is majoring in one of the university's STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) degree programs. This semester, elementary school teachers from rural schools in Central America and the Dominican Republic visited California State University, Dominguez Hills to learn about primary education in the United States and how to implement best practices in their schools at home.
