CSUDH Becomes First Public University in Southern California to Offer Doctor of Occupational Therapy
(Carson, CA) - With the passing of Assembly Bill 829, California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) will become the first public university in Southern California to offer a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD). Passed by the California Legislature on Aug. 15 and signed by Governor Gavin Newsom on Aug. 30, AB 829 grants the California State University (CSU) system the authority to develop OTD programs on its campuses. Along with CSUDH, San Jose State University has also been approved by the CSU to create an OTD program. CSUDH Partners with Ross University School of Medicine to Increase Physician Diversity
(Carson, CA) - Sept. 10, 2019 - Hispanics comprise 18 percent of the U.S. population yet represent only 5 percent of U.S. physicians. In an effort to increase diversity in the physician workforce, California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) and Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM) announce an agreement to help more Hispanic students attend medical school. The agreement was signed Sept. 10 at CSUDH's campus by Thomas Parham, CSUDH president, Michael Spagna, CSUDH provost, and William F. Owen, M.D., FACP, RUSM dean and chancellor.
