(Carson, CA) – The Department of Theatre and Dance at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) will present its Fall Faculty Dance Concert “Renovations,” featuring dance styles that span the 1920s through to the 2000s. The concert will run Dec. 6 and 7 at 8 p.m., and Dec. 7 and 8 at 2 p.m. in the University Theatre at CSUDH.
“Renovations” will feature reconstructions of choreography and choreographic styles by CSUDH dance faculty Amy Michele Allen, Marco A. Carreon, Sarah Cashmore, Jeff Hendrix, Doris Acosta Ressl, and Kenneth Walker.
“We’ve reached into the choreography vault to revive, re-stage, and reset our favorite dance pieces. We’ll also create new works based on previous inspiration,” said Ressl.
This concert will also feature guest choreographers Erin Landry and Dale Merrill. Landry, a professor of dance at Cypress College, has danced professionally with the internationally-acclaimed Philadelphia Dance Company (Philadanco), the Lewitzky Dance Company, and the Lula Washington Contemporary Dance Theater. Merrill is dean for the College of the Arts at CSU Fullerton and a professor of dance who has more than 30 years of choreographic experience and has created numerous original works and musical theater productions.
